According to McAfee, search terms that have the highest risk of attracting crooks who want to infect your computer with malware, spyware etc are:

screensavers, lyrics.

For cold comfort, searching for ****** is relatively safe

Ha ha ha ha!! No doubt thats a bit safe then those screen savers. Forget about downloading, the screensavers ads themselves are so ridiculous that they suddenly pop out of nowhere asking you to download or keep flshing everytime if its a banner.

Have always kept away from those banners till today

Surprising that lyrics is also unsafe.

Probably that is how scammers caught music lover unaware. I was also quite surprised that the sex enhancement drug (starting with the letter V) is relatively safe to search

Lots of people and stores trying to sell that online. And I suppose they might have some sales too cos some people are really hesitant to go to a chemist or the doc and ask for something like that.

Certainly torrents is really a source of lot of virus entry. Lots of people trying to insert tracking cookies ect using torrent files.

Downloading is akin to play russian roulette with computer. I only download software from major vendors like Adobe.

Anything that I download has to pass a number of checks before I let it onto my baby :P

Sometimes, dangerous scripts can even run and the machine will get infected by just visiting the website. Couple of times, my antivirus which run automatically on the background will came up with a warning about dangerous scripts that were about to be executed.

With all the various firewalls and security filter in place, I guess visits to these dangerous websites can be reduced to a minimum.
