Default On-line News and Sport Sources

Remember when radio and television was first invented? everyone claimed this would bring about the end of the newspaper. Well it didn't happen.

My question is wil the internet via access to Ap, AFP and Reuters bring about the end of the newspaper?

Okay I'll start the ball rolling then. I certainly use the internet a lot more. I can't remember the last time I went to a newspaper shot and bought a newspaper! This does not mean that the age of the newspaper is over, infact far from it. I regularly read the on-line versions of many broadsheet newspapers, including the Times (of London), The Daily Telegraph (again of London) and the Washington Post (USA).

Being able to read two different national perspectives of the same story increases my understanding of events.

It is very intersting for example to read about events in Basra from a British, American and Iranian perspective!

so far, i love to use internet to find news and information. Nothing wrong with that. I also can hear and watch radio and TV from my PC. I think PC still the best option right now.

I don't think so; my bet is that books, newspapers and magazines will at least stay for another century or so.

Personally I only read a newspaper when there is nothing else around, like on an airplane or train, don't really like it because your hands get dirty (yes they do)
I think that the new digital reading devices like kindle will replace paper books and newspapers in the near future, but not too soon.
I am considering buying me one when prices go down and also think they will be soon considered like calculators: everyone has one or gets one for free.

That is an excellent point about being able to watch television and listen to the radio. I had completely forgotten about that! Do you think the internet will bring about the end of the television? will hundres of thousands of people, maybe even millions, destroy their television sets and start watching television through their laptop computers?
