Default coalition items becoming collectable now

Coalition items from Iraq and afghanistan are now becoming very collectable, especially amongst US collectors. While the American peices such as medasl and challenge coins are common place (due to there mass production) the items for alleisa are much much rarer. Last year i purchased an Italian Iraq campaign medal and operational tour badge from a collector in italy it cost me 40 euros for both itesm today i sold the medal by itself for 150 euros.

The best thing to sell is a Monogolian army medal it will cost you $250 at the currrent time but will be worth perhaps 4 times at in five eyars time

How do you know those things are not part of a scam since you can't find a way to verify whether those items are really what it claims to be.

Well because The italians have produced similar things before for their peacekeeping operations in Kosovo, Bosnia, Lebanon and Somalia so its not that difficult to verify where they are made. For Polish items most actually carry the warsaw mint - which i would imagine is extremely difficult to fake. As for the Mongolian there was an article int he times of lndon a few yeras ago and i use that as a point of referrence.

Hmmm....Sounds logical. I never got into this business or have any knowledge whatsoever previously, therefore I just have to ask. What kind of profit are you aiming for those items?

the coalition market is just starting to take off but on the saddam hussein era iraqi items some items have tripled in value since 2004. About a year ago I purchased a clay medallion in box of saddam hussein and Nebenkezzza (sorry for incorect spelling). It cost me $35 U.S. over the last two months I have seen three of these sell on e-bay for between $75us and $250 US depending on there condition.

Wow...that's 100% profit that we are talking about here. Looks like there's a gold mine in this market trading collectible items. I never thought there's so much potential in it until you mentioned it here.

Its a really profitable market if you can get a hold of things at low prices. Usually you cna only get things cheap over in the United States if you buy them direct from soldiers returning from Iraq or travel to Iraq to pick them up (not recommended lol)

otherwise it would be bets to buy now and hold on to the items for a year or so.

Wow, I guess the hardest part is you will need quite a lot of money for the investment. You did mentioned investing 40Eur for just one item right?

Yes it can be an expensive market and you haveto be prepared to play a long game its certainly not a get rich quick scheme lol.

You can invest in smaller things. The Iraqi mother of all battle medal and order of merit are reasonable cheap. Six months ago these cost £4.99 they now cost £6.99 not much but still a little profit.
