Not only Christmas is now devoid of any religious significance, the period for Christmas shopping has been growing longer and longer

Well the decline of the religous significance of Christmas have been taking place for years as has the decline in religion full stop. SHops are now open every Sunday when before itw as considered a day of rest. There is even talk of shops being open on Christmas day (although why they would want to take a massive hit on refunds is beyond me)

well staff in shops used to love it becuase they used to get double time for working on these holidays (i.e if you were paid £5.50 an hour you would instead get £11 an hour) Shops have started to cut back on that and have recently attempted to argue that if you are not religious you should not qualify for the extra pay as it is just another day to you! !

Still christmas is a god time to make a little extra money especially with on-line auctions if you have something to sell. You could even trun your hand to making christmas cads and trying to sell them on-line.

even if you just buy christmas presents on-line you are likely to save money.

You should be making tonnes of dole since you are quite a big ebay seller. Just remember to sell more than you buy. If not you will be accumulating junk rather than making money.

I've kept away from e-bay for the last couple of weeks. Benn saving my spending pool for the website as much as possible for christmas day when everyone desperately tries to sell unwanted christmas presents. You can get some real bargins and then sell them on a month or two later at big profits.

At times during this economic downturn, I would save my money until the last few weeks before doing the shopping. Can't afford to spend now and just keep the item. Need the money for more urgent stuff.

Well its what is best for you. Personally i feel there are better bargins now and once christmas comes prices are leikely to be up at least for the run in the the festie season. They will drop prices during the last few days but do you really want to be rushing around with the mad hordes?
