Currently the Web is awash with sites starting with "my"

Myspace, MyIBM, MyAOL, MyClick and what have you.

Corporations are doing this to make customers believe that there is a one-on-one personal relationship.

Do you think such a mere comestic change works at all? Personally for me, the names really sound corny!

Also alot of companies are adapting the "i" infront of their logo's not just to rip off apple but show they are interactive... its a joke

Once upon a time all companies begin with "e" to signify the electronic age. Today only ebay remains, ha ha, what can a name do?

A large number of users love the "my" bit because it makes it feel like they own a part of the internet lol, sad fact really

People are so gullible and so easy to bluff A really sad fact that that consumers do not realize that they are manipulated by corporations in many subtle and non-subtle ways.
