make friends
After the sale, as you are recontacting your customer - you can ask them (if applicable) how they used the item or service that they purchased from you. Maybe you could make a compliment comment about where they live - like "I hear the fishing is great there" or any type of small talk. Make it real, befriend your customers. People like to buy from some place they feel comfortable with and at home with.

I think it's great idea. By doing this, you will build a special relationship with your customer and they will consider coming back again to buy your product. I think a lot of customers are happy and will appreciate if you do that.

When I sold my "how to make money" guide for $5, when people paid I sent them a auto thank you and then a week later sent them a update with loads of helpful advice but also said:
"Now I have shared this with you, I would like to know how you are doing, is there anything you need help with? just e-mail me if you need more help" the response I got was great

Hey, that's great. I think it's a good way to show appreciation to the customer by providing after sales service even after some time. I'm sure if they are looking for more products, they will sure come back for more.

Yap. Don't forget to tell them to register to your list. Then you can give a good article or new gift to them soon. you also can use that list to tell any updates. Its good and not only you will have more business friends, i believe more people will come to you.

The after sale service is of course very important and can take very forms. But one of my rules is never to solicit for testimonials and compliments; let them come to you naturally.

Of course its important. But the sad news is the owner not really have their own team or not have enough money to pay or hired someone to do that job for them. most people work alone and they still cannot spend some time to do that after sales service.

Re: make friends
That is the tragedy. They are so mindful of the bottomline that they can only see the trees and not the whole forest. Too bad for them, customers won't come back.

Yeah, it's correct for you to brought that up. Sometimes when we read testimonials, we can easily sense the ones which are fake because they sound so unnatural and you easily know that they pay for others to write them.

Its easy to know that fake or not testimonial. I prefer if the owner or buyer give us their website link and we can know that person really exist or not. At least we can come and ask them. Leave some phone number also a good one.

Re: make friends
All testimonials should be read and taken with a great pinch of salt. It is one time to spread good word of mouth , it is enough thing spending time to craft a glowing testimonial for another!
