a happy customer
If you have a customer who is extremely happy with your products and/or services, do you ever consider going ahead and asking them for a testimonial to include on your site?

Of course. That's very valuable. Get them to endorse your product and in return offer them some incentive like a discount on the next item to ensure their loyalty.

Of course. Thats what i'm always did when i sell my product. Even some people said i'm wasting my time to keep give a free support. But its fine. As long as i get my repeat sellers.

That is a great idea to offer them a little incentive for taking the time to provide you with a true testimonial of their experience with your company.

Just don't make it look too "salesy" eh. Some testimonial which I've read sounds too fake or too good to be true. Just have the guy write some testimonial true to his opinion and not some overblown testimonial.

I know some people buy some testimonial from some good person or we called "otai" in our country. I not really like it. All my product never have any testimonial. I will added that testimonial after some people buy and they satisfy with my product. Sometimes i see some poeple think that testimonial is important. For me, the support and feedback are important think when we sell something even for product or information.

Well testimonial is truly a must. But depends as well, if the product is really good, you won't need testimonial in the first place to convince people. They will know how to spread the words to others and keep coming back for more

Testamonials are important and you can obtain them just by contacting your customer after the sale, via email, and asking them if they received their item, how the ordering process was and if the item met their expectations. Most customers will email you back a reply and this will be your testimonial. Now, don't put thier entire name on the testamonial - just their first name and the initial of thier last name and the state they came from.
Keep this email they sent you because whenever you put a testamonial on your site, there is a federal or state law that says you MUST have the physical email or letter that the customer sent you to prove that this was a real customer and not just a made up testamonial. This is very important because whatever this agency is - if they want to see the original document and you can not produce it, you are in for heavy fines and even jail time.
Anyone that makes up testamonials is asking for trouble.
Real testamonials are great and definetly use them.

Yap. But if our product is good. We will get that testimonial from our customer even we not asked for that. So far, i think its another way to promote ourself. So, for next product, its easy to tackle customer and get repeat sales right?

Wow I didn't know that federal laws in the US are so strict. Numerous times, I come across website with testimonials which looks something like self-written and overblown somehow. If that's the case then this must mean that they are doing something against the law.

I wish I could remember exactly what the agency is that deals with this. I am sure I will come across it again in my travels and when I do, I will post it here. Sometimes I read so much that I forget where the info comes from.

Thanks. That's very helpful of you. Just to gather and get informed with as many info as possible. Anything does directly asking for testimonial considered legal in any way?

Yap. NOthing wrong with that if we ask people to do that. As long as they give honest testimonial. Everything will be fine.
