Default Myspace has matured

When it comes to music myspace has become more and more attractive. Yes myspace still has hordes of wannabe teens with their adolescent nonsensical garbage but it has expanded so much that you can totally steer clear of the pimple poppers.

There is quite a network of business type persons who regularly use myspace. Be it music, art, literature or niche marketing. It has become a useful tool for the beginner web page starter or a professional. It is free and easy to set up and has global appeal.

It also can have SEO tactics applied to it just like any web page can.

I think Facebook and others still lean more to the social hang out but myspace has broadened out.

The cool thing is that you can avoid the social scene if you want.

I am seeing this. Me as a myspace resource site owner I have to learn to adapt with myspace. They change all the time, users and the company.

The internet has been the greatest laboratory to turn hobbies and frivolous pursuits into money-making ventures where imagination is the limit.

Definately. And yet if the hobby stays a hobby it is still just as satisfying somewhat because of the internet.

And I credit myspace for being a part of that. Yes there are idiots on myspace but it is so easy to avoid them now I don't even concern myself.

There are certainly a lot of changes seen recently with the trend whereby people are taking myspace profile more seriously. You are right to mention that it is no longer a social networking sites but more towards self and business promotion agenda.

In fact, I could see a trend of all websites converging and looking more similar in terms of feel and even applications - not sure whether this is a healthy development or not.

Although I would reninterate their is still the social realm available. The kids and the sex aggressors are still out there. It is just more defined in my opinion.

Myspace is desperate right now, they are coming with a new myspace version which would cause the closing of hundreds of resource sites.

Could you expand on what you mean by desperate?

I have heard talk like that for the last few years but I have never heard exactly what the threat was.

I only know what I see which means nothing. So I would be curious to know what they are desperate about. It appears that they have settled into a niche of sorts. They are certainly among the list of recognized sites. Again that doesn't necessarily translate into stability but it does seem like a positive.

More people have moved to facebook, myspace is losing alot of money. They are coping facebook, with a new version they are coming up with. My resource site may close unless i target friendster/bebo along with myspace. Because layouts will stop working with the new version.

I certainly have heard more about Facebook and it clearly has become a force in social web sites. But my Facebook page doesn't get a fraction of the interest that my Myspace page does. So that is why the reports and what you are saying baffles me.

That being said that doesn't meant that Myspace is not losing money. But it seems to me that Myspace has gone to greater lengths to expand their versatility and appeal.

The others are undergroubnd status as far as I can tell. You actually hear references to Myspace and Facebook in the mainstream world.
