But why? The harder it is to achieve, the higher the page ranking standard is. If it becomes easy and everybody seems to be getting PR7, then what's the purpose anyway?

Well, I think for the moment, we just have to follow the rules. That's what we need to do if we were to continue joining in the game. The can make it tougher but we just have to work harder.

And sometimes when the game gets too tough, some will find a way to cheat.

Getting PR 7 definitely requires a lot of effort and it's a feat which only few of the best sites can achieve.

I think the point is not to achieve or PR7 or even higher - the point is to improve your PR from 0 to say 1 or 2 and then go increasing upwards. This will show that you have put in real efforts in building up your site steadily and overtime - not a one-night wonder.

I think they did mentioned before about using the rel="nofollow" attribute if you need to stays clean on this.

I dont like those affiliation scripts where you have to get the sites more hits to go higher on the list.

Dude. It's not a script. It's just a tag whereby it will tell google bots not to crawl beyond the link. It's meant not to pass on the link juice.

Well, it's fine with me as well. But however, if you have higher PR sites, there are more ways you can monetize your site. Just accept the fact, PR is still important no matter what the argument is.
