Submitting articles
Hello,
I will post here first.
I have been talking to a few people and through general discussions I have learned a few things that I would like to share.
1) pay attention to your local newspapers and see what they are printing for stories. See if your website is related and if it is then submit an article about your specialty and maybe someday they will print it. Make sure to make reference to your website in the article and if you can submit the article to the paper - online - then it would be great to put in some links pointing to your site. If your story is printed on the regular paper your links won't be clickable (of course) but if they print it at an online version - then you have created some one way links to your site. - Awesome
2) Nowadays we have many many holidays. Like Grandparents Day, Teachers Day, Peppermint Days, Potato Festivals, Bosses Days, Secretaries Days, Pet Days.. and on and on. Watch the calendars for these days and if any pertain to your site - again submit something - you never know.
If I think of any more than I will post them - if anyone else can think of something -well jump right in - post away!

Yeah, point number 2 should be nice. Designing our site and having contents to reflect the celebration mood. Thanks for expressing your ideas and sharing with us here.

You are very welcome. I have a natural site so sometimes when I see some place having a weight loss week or when mid spring comes and people are putting in their herb gardens then I start with the articles about herb gardens and I include - but if yu don't have time for an herb garden you can get all your nutrients fro supplements found on "this site". And if permitted then I put a link or post my site name. If it is not permitted to openly advertise a certain site then I put a suggestion to do a search on google for ....... and then I list some of the words that I come up on the search engines first with.

Related to your point number 1, I think we could also try with magazines as well and I think we ever get a review, that would be excellent.

I have to say if you have a business that you feel would benefit from advertising offline too it is an excellent idea to see if you can related your site and business to a local news story. That is good public relations.

Yeah, that would help as well. When it comes to marketing it's never too much and as long as we do it the right way, it can help a lot.

Yes, It is very helpful as long as we remember not to spam these articles that we are writing. We have to keep in a frame of mind that we are trying to educate our vistors about what we are "experts" at. That we genuinely care about them. We can, of course, leave out contact info if someone would like to know more or if they have any comments or concerns. If we come off like we are just trying to sell our services people get turned off immediately.

Yeah I agree with you. We shouldn't try to make the article sounds to salesy (is there a word for this? ). It should be something like with the purpose of offering genuine help and when people find that useful, they are more wiling to spend. Trust is very valuable.

Unfortunately, some people out there don't have the same ideas like you. They prefer to spam everyday just to get a couple bucks. Maybe they could have a better profit if they use a better way.

Well, those people do that will end up nowhere cause eventually the editors will realize on their intention to spam and they won't trust you anymore. So no matter where you are trying to submit to, nobody will learn to appreciate what you are writing and eventually they will just ignore it.

It's a wonderfull advice. I wish I have this advice when I just start to writing. But if we don't have enough data resource to write about common occasion, we can always browsing in the net, right? And point 1 is good to promote our website too.

Re: Submitting articles
Geee...It's never too late as long as we haven't taken the wrong move. In whatever we write on offering advice and providing good ideas always work best.
