Default Site back up????

Do you back up your sites regularly? After how many days do you do it usually??

Do you just copy the root folder to your syste,m or do you use the back up feature in your cPanel??

And how about db??

After how many days should i back up my sites to avoid any problems?

Usually my sites are designed on my computer and are left on the computer when uploaded. The only thing I need to backup are the databases, everything else I already have.

Well, I personally don't have a forum that I need to back up image avatars. But if I did, I probably wouldn't as the user should have his/her own avatar. As for my blog - I haven't put many images on, but they are usually saved on my computer first.

I have not really backed up sites on my own at any time. Of course, some information that is on my website is stored in more than once place. I will admit that I only ever really use the backup that is provided by my web host.

I'm the same with you, if the host has some sort of back up, I will use that, otherwise I rarely backup my sites. I don't see the point when I have nearly everything already on my computer. The database I backup on my computer whenever I feel I have a significant amount to loose by not backing it up.

The more members you get, the more often you should back up. As the more data you will loose. So if you have virtually none, backup rarely or if you have a very large amount you will probably backup everyday.

Ya that indeed is sensible. No point in backing up the same data every day

But even if you have less number of members backaing up your db every 10 or 15 days would be a good habbit as per me. What do you feel.

If you have had a few posts; yes, it would not be nice to loose your members input! As any host can shut down expectantly and leave you without your site. Which is why you backup!

Ya i got it. But can the hosts shut down that way. My be if its some cheap or maybe if you buy it from someone across forums it could take place. I dont think any reputed hosts would ever do that.

By the way i think the hosts too keep a back up of all their data i mean sites. Isant that true?
