Hosting on Linux platform! Any drawbacks???

I am using Linux hosting for my sites at present. What i noticed wa people preffer Windows over linux, and even the cost for windows is higher than that of linux hosting platform.

Why is it so? Is there any drawback or any positive point using windows hosting?
