Surreal is an unknown quantity at this point
Default What forum?

What forum type do you prefer?
Now obviously Paid softwares are going to be likely choice, so I would like you to choose your best paid software and best free software and if you would like to, your best overall software.

For me, I haven't administrated any paid software, so I actually have barely any comment on it. But, I do know I like vBulletin better than IPB.

As for free software, I seem to like MyBB better then any others. MyBB I guess is more like the paid software then PhpBB v2 (I haven't tried v3 yet) or PunBB etc.

Overall, MyBB because it is what I have used, and I am quite familiar with it now.

vBulletin i feel is the best up till today. Its a paid one but is very effecient and preffered by most of the webmasters.

I think its more preffered cos of its security and its seen that it was least hacked by hacker till today.

Free i preffer SMF rather than PHPBB or others. Very good and easy to configure and use. I did moderate on one and also did set up one

I actually don't like SMF that much and as such, I have only used it once. But yes, vBulletin is the best available solution on the market at the moment considering security and stability.

To me all of them are more a less the same to me. I never own a forum so I can't give point of view as a forum administrators. As a user, my only concern to stay on a forum is the quality of the content. Usually I prefer Vbulletin compared to others.

I agree. For who never have forum and never handle some forum as forum adminstrators, its hard to said something. I have experience. Its hard for first time, but after you familiar with that. Its easy. Piece of cake!
