Default Need help combining or merging tables from two different database.

Can anyone here help me about how to megre or combine two tables from two different databases????

I am trying to do that for a couple of minutes now but cant get it done.

I had a db of my old wordpress blog in which there were lots of posts so I wanted it to import the posts to the new blog I installed. I tried removing the new database and replacing with the old one but it does no work.

So was looking to merge only the table containing the posts to the present database.

Can anyone help out please!!

Maybe the problem is that you are using two different versions of WP.
Not all versions have the same table structure.

- Try installing the WP version you initially used
- Upload the database you want to use.
- Upgrade WP to the latest version
- Back up your database
- Install the latest version of WP (in your new website)
- Restore the db (in your new web site)

The last 3 steps may not be necessary if you are doing everything in the same domain/path.

Let me know if it helps

I had this problem, the way to do it is rename the old database tables, for example:

wp_posts is the orignal
wp2_posts is the new site's db

Rename wp2_posts to wp3_posts and wp_posts to wp2_posts

Only a few can be changed over, posts comments and links, the rest can cause problems
