Default Forgot MySQL user pasword!! How to retrive???

Is there any way to retrive MySQL users pasword incase if some one forgets??

Can that be done. I had almost forgoten. I tried using a few but could not connect to DB while installing a script. Finally anyways i made it.

But now i have learnt a lesson from it. I have started jotting down usernames and pasword now

By the way can it be retrived by any way if any one forgets???

I think there is only one way. If you log into the server via FTP and look for the config file, this is only if you have a old install on the server already. I have done this many times before (found the config.php) if you are just updating or installing a new database over or along side the original one the password will be there.

Apart from that its a pain to do. Best bet is to google it, I know you can get a program which allows you to access mySQL via excel.

Oh yes got it there. Ya that could work. Also may be finding any other file in the any of the previous install we can chck files which may contain the user name and pasword used for the mysql_connect() string

That never came to my mind though
