PHP encoding and obfuscating? What does it mean??

One of my friend was looking for a software which does php encoding. Something like PHP obfuscator but i never knew what those terms were

Encoding sound somewhat familiar but obfuscator

. Never heard of that.

Any idea about this and what do they mean???

Obfuscation is actually something like a tool that can be used to protect your scripts so that nobody can copy or see them especially if you are running on corporate servers. It works by scrambling the source code so that it is difficult to understand. If you are looking specifically for php obfuscators, i would suggest you go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
I'm not sure whether it's free, but seems like you need to pay to use it.

Dont remember where but i did see some cod which seemed totally jumbled with some unknown characters like fhjvbyufsadbdnb ect.

Surprising to me that was a function which was called and all the variables were somewhat same

was just imaging how the coder could understand what he has called and what he does

I think that was an example of such a code. Good thing to protect your scripts. May be the person will needd to buy the decoder for understanding it
