.cfm ???? What extension is this???

Just today i happend to see a site which was coded with an extension of .cfm. All the pages displayed in the browser were having the extension .cfm rather than .html, .php, .asp ect common ones.

Do you know what this .cfm was. Is it a different coding language or what???

It actually refers to Coldfusion template. I don't see many people using it nowadays. Where did you see those sites?

Whats coldfusion? Heard about it somewhere but dont know what it exactly is.

By the way i saw the site the other day while googling for something but right now dont remember where and when. Any ways ill post the links if i get it again

It's actually a programming language for writing web-based applications similar like html, php, perl...Most people use it to develop professional looking site. Kind of complex but it works for most people.
