Default Do you give all the images, animations ect to the site owner???

Any one here does professional web development and accepts orders for website creation.

In that case after finishing with the site do you give all the images and animations to the owner whom the sites belongs to. Is that the usual practice.

Or you just get the site up and inform him about it???

It depends. If the image is quite big and it's an important content of the website, I would give it to the site owner. But I would but some extra charge for my effort to create the image.

Myself, I would have put together the package before I started web design where as it stated that any images I created for your site remain in my possesion unless the website owner will purchases the image(s). If images are not purchased they will be removed at the end of my employment. Images CAN be purchased but WILL NOT be given away for free.

Something like that - just so that you are both aware of what is going on. It is not fair to build a site for someone and charge them thousands and then after you have received their money, they decide they can now do this on their own, you take away part of the site. Pictures are important. Seems like you need to be very clear about this before you start business. You could even just always give them the images but make sure you include that in the cost of the website development.

Hope this helps

Connie

Yes indeed that does help. Even i felt it right doing it that was and making it compulsary purchasing the images as it isant a good idea using the same images over again and again over various sites. Incase if the person provides some pics which are his belonging then it wopuld not be any problem. But developing and using pics developed by self is indeed precious.

Image these days are very very costly and you just cant even neglect the copyright issue associated.
