Default coloring

The coloring on your website can encourage visitors to take certain actions. For example, red often makes a person stop and take a longer look at what they are reading. Yellow in some cases can cause people to take a course of action. I believe blue is to be a more calming color.

I think colour definately plays an important role. The red colour does attract your attension but is usually not preffered by most of the designers cos its annoying. I had used an red and black header for my site untill i met a webdesigner online who said that it would keep the visitoirs away istead of attracting them.

If you need to focus any particular thing or ord or any thing then it would work wonderfully as per me.

And blue and green ofcourse are the most pleasent colours.

For me. COlour is really important. Some people hate to see some site colourful. Its just fine with 2 or 3 colour in one site. But some people have different taste. They love to see many colour in one site. So, its depend on you to deside it.

It's the most important aspect to determine whether your site looks good or not. Having the right color will invoke the right mood. To me, red is more towards something aggressive and thought provoking while the lighter color could induce peace and serenity. Depends on the theme of your website to determine which color to use.

Yes firmly agree over that point too. Its useless building a site with some fancy colours, some bright colours and lots of animation if the site is of an business or may be healthcare and hospital.

Theame also plays an important role in choosing of colours.

Yap. If the colour can make your make others people mood looks good and attract to come to our blog or site. I think its fine. Its also good if we can blend with the theme/script we use at blog or forum.

Maybe if there's any website which can give advice on colors to use and what theme or mood they represent. Anybody come across such websites?

Not till now i have come across any thing like that. But i think you can always get good help over forums regarding that. The idea of a site also sounds good. May be a blog would be better so that there are some comments and somewhat discussion sort of over the posts which would benifit more.

Just for thoughts... How about other colors like orange, purple and yellow. Do do you think it could represent? Any ideas?

Some of the popular forums like DP is green. Do you think that has any affect on the popularity?

I am not sure about orange or purple. Purple I would not even use too often on a website. However, it seems to me that I read that yellow can be used as a way to "highlight" an important point such as a particular word, sentence or phrase.
