Default Best Website design (2, 3 or 4 columns?)

Hmmm...Maybe just to get your guys opinion. Which one do you think is the best design in terms of visitors presentation, SEO and for ads integration.

2-columns is pretty common. 3 nowadays start to be widely used while 4 is very rare. However, I think the 4-column design is the worst because you can't balance your web page presentation. I would go for 2 column because it is easier to manage

I personally prefer 3 column sites.

They are fine with their looks. Presentation i very good, you can easily acomodate most of the things plus some more things like ads an all with making the site look wierd.

You can use one big column for the actual content, one for the links or your navigation menu and third for some ads or for moneterizing your site.
So most of the content gets equally divided.

Hmmm...different opinions. For me, I would prefer using one column for content + ads and another column just for navigation. Oh yeah and one top horizontal column for top navigation.

But then let's try and find out a conclusion out of this thread as per what visitors love or else it would be like I love my blog very much but no one else likes it

Geee....that's the purpose of creating the pool here to find out. Of course a person has its own view and doesn't represent the general consensus. Some would even say 4 but then it's still comes down to personal preferences.

I would prefer two to three columns depending on the contents. 4 column is a definite no-no for me.

I usually like the three column look, most people put their adsense on the right side and middle is for the write up. So it looks pretty neatly laid out. I do like the idea of drop down menus on horizontal panel makes information easy to find.

2 is the best option. Your site will be organized, and it makes it easy for visitors to navagate. Simple is always the best.
