Try to look for a creative twist when creating website copy. There are so many websites out there that have content that is so similar to others. Look for a way to make your content stand out above the rest.
That's true, originality is always best and rewards are greater. However, by twist what do you mean exactly? Do you mean the design, or different wording approaches? Or possibly some sort of snag, a competition as such?
The creativity can be in different aspects whether in design or content. I think both of them are equally important and should get people to take note of your website and coming back again.

I just mean some point of view or some type of content that is different from the usual. I see so many sites that have the same exact articles or content that appears to be from pretty much the same source. Having a unique website design in and of itself is good too.
Sometimes it's just hard to think of one content/subject which is totally unique. If you have more or less the same contents, then the next thing that determine whether your site will get popular compared to the other sites with similar content will depend on your SEO skills.
A change of tone can be good if your using the same area as 1,000 other blogs. So you might go for a humorous tone or a sarcastic tone. You may also use some metaphors, similes to make your blog more poetic. All the techniques you learn in English classes can help you become original.
Maybe another thing which can get people's attention is to create some controversial news or headlines. I don't what your niche is all about but usually anything extraordinary will get the visitors coming.
Yes, titles are what you can use to capture audiences. It is one of the most important parts of a blog. Say you were writing about dogs, and something happened on the news that you thought you would write about. "Dog died in accident" wouldn't make for an exciting title; however "Man's best friend died defending; tragedy!" would probably make for a better title.
Yeah, that should get visitors' attention for sure. Sometimes I do notice that the news are blown out of proportions to make it really exciting. Can see it almost everyday.

That is an excellent point. Your headlines can go a long way in attracting people's attention. Something that might usually not interest them could become more interesting with a creative titel.
Hmmm...I mean sometimes do we know that some of these news were actually the truth. It could be scam report just to get people's attention. Have you ever come across any of that?
