How do you make certain

If you have people who have opted in and said that you can send them emails are there any rules that you must still follow to make certain that you are not actually using SPAM when contacting those people?

Not really, however emails being sent are on your behalf, so make sure that your users will like or find what they read useful or you might be losing them. Also, you should probably include some opt out link that they can follow or email that they can contact.

Try not to send mails too often, something like 10 in a day should be outrageous and the guy would tell you it's spamming. Do make sure also the content is of quality.

If those were some annoying mails, totally regardless and about more than one per day than i would never ever think of reading or entertaning them again.

So better being particular with whatever you mail them and see that its always liked by the users. Then it wont be a problem at all.

It is a good point about not sending emails too often. I think if you do this then it can possibly be looked upon as being more SPAM. But people probably don't mind when you send them announcements about sales and special offers.

Yeah, if it's something really important (something like forex signals, grab it before it's too late), people would not mind. However, if this is too frequent people will start to get annoyed and considered those as spam.
