Paypal safe?
When I visit forums, users complain they say paypal account get hacked and it not because phishing. I'm concerned because if we become the unlucky person to be selected and account hacked. Can change password longer prevent this making hacker harder to hack?

I think they said about paypal account who use credit card. Some hacker manage to steal that credit card number and use it for shopping online and others. I don't know how they manage to do that. But i hate it..

I have been using paypal for over 15 years, no trouble ever with paypal. I think it is as safe as any other banking site. We have moved into the ONLINE PAYING years and we can't be afraid. Just careful. Watch your online accounts daily and keep a minimum balance in the account that is associated with paypal. I opened a checking account just for paypal and I don't leave more than 100.00 in it. I associated a credit card with it that only has a 300.00 credit limit. If they mess with my account, they won't get much and I won't be out fortunes.

I agree with oaklvr. I have been using paypal since they started like a million years ago. I have never had a problem with them. I think with all the stuff going on with financial info stealing, people become overly paranoid.

Yes, that's a good suggestion by oaklvr. Never ever leave money in Paypal because there's always a possibility that the account might get hacked. Best thing what you can always do is to scan your computer for viruses or trojan horse which can steal password.

Thx. I feel safe after hear your advice. Leave money in paypal only look for trouble and I see paypal accounts always get hack. In that case, I better be wise and withdrawal as often as possible.

Along with keeping the money withdrawn from paypal, also keep the account that you are sending the paypal money to - low. If they hack your paypal they will hack the accounts linked to paypal. That is why I suggest to keep a seperate bank account for paypal, keep the balance 100.00 or so and the credit card that you associate to your paypal account - make sure the credit limit is only for about 300.00 or so.

You might also want to consider changing credit card to debit card instead if that is allowed in your country. Better take precautions to avoid all these problems.

There has been a increase in hacked paypal accounts because of the following reasons:
1. PEOPLE DONT USE LONG PASSWORDS... the use a normal word with like 5 letters in it
2. People give their details to freely and then people can find out a simple password with a few questions.
My paypal password is 12 letters long, nice and its lower case, uppercase and numerical.
So much harder to guess
