Re: Paypal Fees
Those are the rules. They should have made it longer
With all that in place, I wonder how anybody is ever going to make money from ebay. Well there maybe some, but how about startups and small traders like us?

Re: Paypal Fees
Seems like they are trying to make things transparent enough between the sellers and the buyers. A couple of points in favour of the sellers too but if you are looking at it in a buyers perspective you would be much more happier

Re: Paypal Fees
sounds liek there will be plenty of opportunities for the lawyers to make a litle extra money lol. E-bay rules will probably have lots of holes in them for the clever man or clever lawyer to exploit. That is what all contratcs are like.

Re: Paypal Fees
Raven you surely are the king of Ebay in this forum lOL nothing difficult for you there. But yes I agree if you are clever and and try to check ebay out for couple of days seriously then you certainly find things very easy.
BTW can we know your ID at ebay so that me can check the things you listed out

Re: Paypal Fees
As usual, they have always favored the buyers rather than the sellers. If this is the case, it would just attract more scammers hoping to prey on poor sellers trying to make some money.

Re: Paypal Fees
Ebay and paypal over do it with taking advantages of both buyers and sellers, with millions of sales every yeay they make money from everyone of them. It should be limited.

Re: Paypal Fees
They don't just make money from that they also make money out of paid advertising on their website. Ebay and paypal are what comes to everyones mind when they search the internet for methods of selling or trading or making money. that is why theu will dominated the market for a long long time to come. No competion at all :-(

Re: Paypal Fees
Also a fundamental answer to any question like this is, they do it because they can.

Re: Paypal Fees
Exactly, ther's no competiton at all for e-bay and paypal. Both of are established so well in the market that its very difficult for any oter site to compete them

Re: Paypal Fees
People have tried to compete witht hem but they are very unsuccessful. Ebay has total dominance of the arket. even google could not undercut that! so what chance the smaller firms who are just starting out? Strangled at birht almost.

Re: Paypal Fees
Since there is no competition for either of them then they can do what ever it takes to make the most money from us. Intill something better comes along...

Re: Paypal Fees
Something to add....ebay on their official press release stated that they are expecting paypal to grow and generate income of additional 20% despite the economic downturn. Well, I hardly had any doubt on that statement....

Re: Paypal Fees
WAIT! So Paypal fees are going to increase by 20%? That would suck as i dont make enough money anyways. Maybe even let them increase fees on other countries because it would help our economy

Re: Paypal Fees
If you don't make enough moeny to justify paypal fees, then just stop accepting paypal for ebay transactions. Just mark your items as cheques, postal orders or money transfers only. Cut paypal out full stop

Re: Paypal Fees
No.... what they simple mean is that they expected the revenue to jump by that amount. You see, paypal not only earns from the fees alone. They also made money from exchange rate difference and also interests from funds left in the account.

Re: Paypal Fees
I'm still trying to decide whetehr or not alertpay maybe an alternative. I highly doubt that e-bay will accept it instead of paypal but it maybe useful for other internet transactions. At the moment it seems to be used for nothing accept paid to click advert transactions.

Re: Paypal Fees
I wouldn't suggest using Alertpay. Google about it and you will find some *interesting* information.
