credit card processors

I know you can pay to be able to accept credit cards through various merchants. When I looked into fees for this service they just seemed to high to me. Anyone else have thoughts?

The one I use is Authorize Net/Humboldt Services. I can even use the same account with multiple sites just as long as I the multiple sites under the same business name.

Not the same website name but just the same business name. Such as - My business name may be ABC Wholesale Distributors and under that Business name I have 4 websites - DEF Jewelry, GHI Natural Supplements, WDC Blankets, and EFR TeenAge Clothing. As long as all these websites are under the same business then I don't have to pay extra for the processors on each site.

Hey, I never heard of both Authorize Net/Humboldt Services, so I tried to search about more info. I can find authorize.net webpage but couldn't get Humboldt. Both of them are bank right? and they allow you to setup a merchant account?

Hope this helps. I do not know a great deal about all this merchant services stuff. This is who I use and those are the contact numbers I call when I need something.

I have two websites up and running - both using these people for the merchant account setup and I am paying one price. The same price that I would be paying if I only had one processor.

Geee...Thanks for the info. Does it allow foreign citizens to have an account there? My main concern is whether they will charge a monthly maintenance fee to keep the account.

They do charge a monthly maint fee - I think most do - except for paypal and like that. I am not sure about foreign accounts either. You can call those phone numbers and see what you find out. If it is too costly for you to phone maybe you can find a program on the internet that will let you phone them for free over the net.

Hey, thanks. Maybe I'll check it out and decide on the outcome whether to use it or not. My only concern are the fees and certain restrictions.
