BEWARE: Paypal new fees structure is killing
Guys, I didn't notice all these while that the new paypal fees has been introduced ever since 6th of June 2009. According to this new structure, even personal accounts will now be charged for receiving payments.
Since I don't logged in to my account always, today I was shocked to find out that there is quite a hefty deduction to what I'm supposed to receive.  So what's next, in this economic hardship when the money is hard to come by, it's not fair to level higher fees to us

It really goes to show that without viable competition, Paypal can impose new fee structure to fatten their pockets. Thanks for the alert - may be it is really time to try out other alternatives.

Ya same with me too. I atually knew that they are supposd to make changes and got the changes in force but I cannot see any difference in any fee structure. I paid a couple of people with my paypal and even they never complaint me about the paypal fees??
Is it that for any country specific??? I read it on their site regarding some cross border payments or payments specifically from US attracts much fees. Not sure need to go through it again.

Nope the situation only lies on those receiving payment like myself who also use a personal account.

Even I use a personal account if I am not mistaken. Will need to observe it minutely as liowkc did!! Seems that he's found out some difference.

Definitely using a personal account now to receive cash payments also attract a service fee. Guess had to start evaluating switching to a premier or business account.

But then premier or business account also has fees. Only the area of use is vast. You can ues them for all business activities too. No a bad choice to upgrade if the differnce in fees is not much or both the fee structure are similar.

Well if you are sending money between friends, that should not be charged for fees. Somehow I feel that the amount although can be small in a single transaction but when it adds up, it can be very huge.

Hey cant see any difference. Yesterday and today had couple of transactions of $4 $5 and $1 but then The transaction shows received $1 itself. Thats exact amount I suppose.
Do you mean that the glitch lies in the overall funds in paypal?? The totall fund might be showing up deducting the fees??? Will need to kep an eye on that too.

I presume your account is personal account as well right? Did you click the details of the transaction to see whether there are fees imposed?

Yes transacion details does not show any thing. Anyways will confirm it and try to post a screenshort if it isant showing any fees. Kind of surprised.

I have not been charged for money received as of today. I don't knwo what that means. I am expecting a payment tomorrow June 28. I will report if there is a charge for the receiving of that payment.

Yep even for me. Just checked it again now. But cant see any fees imposed. Only thing what I did not have an eye on was to total fund balance. Not sure if the funds show after deduction there.

Look careful and tabulate the total right amount you are supposed to receive. It can be very deceiving. Check carefully especially if you have a personal account whereby transaction used to be free.

Uh....You mean response from paypal? Usually the reply is quite late and somehow if the question that they deem is not important, it will dragged even further. Anyway, FYI, just try to click the send tab and select a dummy recipient. You don't need to click until the end to send the payment. After the first step, you should see the fees breakdown.
