WHOIS Gaurd or Domain privacy!!! Do you prefer buying it???

Do you prefer buying privacy for your information on the domains you buy or you never bother to look at it?

Just asked this cos I never bother but then last week a surprising thing happened to me. I bought a domain one related to dating and within hours I had a mail into my inbox form an unknown person or rather company saying that "we have fully developed dating script which would suit your domain. So get forward and buy it from us"

This was really surprising for me. But then how did they know it so soon that the domain is registered??
