.net or .org ??? Which is more preffered??

Rescently i happened to look out for a domain to buy but noticed that the .com was inavailable. What was available was .net and a .org.

What would be more preffered and a better option.

Any ays i bought .net cos it sounds more better to me here as .org I feel is particularly for organizations.

Hope I was correct wih my choice.

Any comments???

If you are using the site to make money then the .net is better but if the site is used for a non-profit then the .org would be best. So it sounds like that you are using the site to make money so you chose the best ending for your site.

Not exactly i use it to make money but it is a site which tells all the details of my business what i run. But i do run adsense on it.

So indeed i think it was a good choice for going with .net.

But does .org only stand for a non-profit organization.

Try to remember this. Unless you have no choice, then only go for .net or .org. When it comes to google ranking, you will find that the .com is always ranked higher than other. It's not ironic and google has their way and preferences. That's why the .com is in high demand and not always available.
