You can start pre-applying for your list of desired .ME Domains at an amazingly low pricing of just $59 per year

.ME Application process:
You can start applying for your .ME Domains right away!

In case you are the sole applicant for your Domain, you will acquire the ownership of that particular Domain Name a short while after 26th June, 2008.

For domains that will receive more than one application, the .ME registry will allocate the Domain Name via an auction. So in case any of your Domains get multiple applications, you can claim ownership of the concerned Domain Name by placing the highest bid for it. This auction will be held a short while after 26th June, 2008, and you will be emailed all the details on this.

Beats me...$59 a year? What if the domains ending with .me just get ignored by google? There's too many nowadays and SE only concerns about the .com and .net
Anyway, out of curiosity, what does .me stands for?

ME? as in you and me?

Yes it obviously is going to be ignored by google and if not its always going to be inferior to .com &.net. The main reasons .me is a personal domain and not business oriented. May be people use it for business later but now its completely personal.

Something like hwang.me life31.me A good option for building your portfolio online. But lol $59/- I am happy with .com

.me's will be a big blogger boom soon, because its hard to get the .com you want for a blog they will be all over them lol

But $59? thats alot of money concidering I get my .com's and .co.uk's for $4-$8 for a year + hosting lol

Yep! Very true!! Certainly would attract bloggers!

But then initially only some genuine hardcore bloggers would preffer buying it at that price.

May be if the prices lower down later then we are going to have a blogging revolution over the .me platform

With that price, unless something special like getting more attention and ranking higher in search engine search, then I don't see any point getting one at the moment. Even if you can't get .com or .net, people would still go for .info before even considering .me

Ya thats obvious cos of the price but then some webmasters wo are realy into some sort of descent online business would not mind buying it for that price too.

Most or the .com's ,net and infos are gone already. So .me is an option to et whatver you want. I think right now even there would be que of people trying to register domains of top companies like google,micro, ect with .me domain only for the reasons of making some hafty bucks from them.

And eventually as the time goes the price is certainly gonna decrease.

When there's no demand for it, I'm sure it will. First of all, which business or corporate sites would want to use that extension. For individual who just want to create a personal site, why need to pay so much for it?

On the contrary, hey, I was thinking....why not get something like names of important people. For example...billgates.me

Who knows maybe one day, the third richest man would come looking for it. Just kidding.

Yes that can be done, but they youll get those names only if you are bit lucky. I thin most of the names would be taken by those personolity themselves or if not then may be some lucky chaps might get them.

But rare posibilities of you and me getting it cos if there are two or more claims for a same name then mostprobably an auction would be arranged and then sold to the winner.
