Godaddy and paypal????????
Is it that godaddy does not allow to buy domains via paypal anymore??
Did anyone buy a domain there lately?? Ws trying to register a domain there but dont get the pay via paypal option at checkout. ll this time I have been buying and renewing my domains with paypal. But this time am facing this issue. Any idea??

Well I noticed it earlier when I was purchasing a domain just 3 days ago. I was left with no choice (without pp option) so I just paid with my credit card first. But later, after that when I just tried again, the paypal option reappear after I completed the purchase.

You mean it appeared after your initial purchase with a credit card. But then its of no use after you pay via CC. The thing is that I dont have a CC so only option for me is Paypal. And no other reseller offers domains as cheap as godaddy. Had opened up a support ticket there but no reply from their side untill now. Its been around two days.

Yeah, you are right. They are the cheapest so far but it was really strange because all the while they accepted paypal source of payment. But I have no choice since I want the domain badly.

Was planning to buy one there but facing this issue cos of which I have put a hold on the purchase. Planning to but it from netfirms or name. BTW any idea how netfirms is for domains??

The problem only surfaced last week when I was trying to purchase for a new .net. Before that I could even use paypal fund to purchase without any problem at all.

Checked it out 2day again and now the paypal payment option appears. But now if I check out the promo period has ended and the promo code does not work. Lot of other codes also dont work. Seems like it was a stratergy to avoid misuse or overuse of the promo codes. I mean the code was of 1.99 for a .com domain

Oh I see. That could be one of the reasons. Luckily I managed to grab a .net for only cheap price but the offset is I have to use my credit card to make payment.

Lucky there. BTW see that you dont set it for auto renew if you dont intend to use it for long or generally too. Cos there are coupons around for renewals too. Auto renew will renew the domain for normal price.

I also went ahead and did 2 years so I don't know if that changes anything on the cart screen.
Sometimes I guess things appear and disappear due to cosmetic changes also.

Wasant cosmetic change though as per me. Cos the very next day the option appeared. I did not buy the domain then cos the price was high. That was specifically aimed towards restricting unauthorised or uncontrolled use of the coupon codes. Cos its a huge loss for them selling .com at 1.99
