Default Link price?? Or value of your link???

How do you basically descide what is the price of a link on a particular site.

Googling aroung I did discover some tools which claimed to quote the price but then most of them seemed to be inaccurate.

Do you know any good tool which gives you an idea aout the price of a link on a particular site???

Rather than using the tools which are all quite inaccurate, I would suggest you find out the rate based on the demand and supply market price. I know there are some people offering the links as low as $3 for PR2 site per month while others can go very high. It also depends on your niche as well so most of these online tools don't take into consideration on that factor.

Thanks for the comments Hwang. Will definately try finding out from the people who are actually selling out their links.

Something like checking out the market price by seeing who's selling for what and selling selfs for a bit lowrer

But just be careful because google never sanctioned the practice. They will impose a PR punishment if found to be selling links. But if you insists...

On the contrary, if you have a site with decent PR, it's a very good way of making nice bucks. I've witness before a guy offering his side up for links with each $20 for a year and he sold more than 10 of them All just in a matter of hours.

But then how will google come to know that I have sold those links

lOL cant it be like they are my friends sites and i linked to them without any linkback

I dont think selling 5 to 10 links on a site or blog would be harmfull?? Rather you can say renting cos its for an year. What do you say??

I don't know how they got to know about it. Maybe when you post about selling links in a forum and you include the site address and then when some google spies read about it, they will take action to penalize your site....Lol (just my guess)

But on a serious note, I think it's simple. Maybe sometimes certain people overdo it by putting 30 -40 links in a page, then they will get suspicious. Either way, a bunch of links at a site and none of them are related at all to the site content.

Selling 30 to 40 links on a page is like hell. And that too selling unrelated links is Crime.

Hey let me tell you something. What I have seen is most of the sites i mean the site owners set a a totally different page for link exchange. On that page they only put up links and usually there are series of those pages with the links.

But then does that not put them in trouble?? Or do they hide it from robots by writing a robot.txt file. That can always be done isant it???

Yeah, you are correct. Restriction can be made so that the page doesn't get crawled. But if you do that and as a buyer, I wouldn't bother buying link on that page also upon seeing 30 -40 links already there.

That's why they offer so cheap and the buyer is usually looking to create high PR backlink to increase to own site PR and not to drive traffic.

That does come true when you are buying links with the intensions of getting good traffic. But then if you are planning to exchange links only for the sake of a better Page Rank then i dont think that should actually bother.

But the fact is, the links are placed on a page usually well hidden or something failed to get noticed especially when there are something like 10 or more link over these as well. Basically I think the main reason they want those links placed at high PR site is to help them on their website PR. And traffic comes second.

PR is a big part of price, but in the end if you have the hits and other high rankings you can still get some good money!

I personally have a PR of 0 lol, due to only getting 200 a day my links are valued from $3 to $5 a month, but no one would ever buy a link from my site, its full of IT nerds who love to read up on my pain lol.

So unless you have a good techy site and want a link from me then theres no point
