Default Have you ever approached directly

Have you ever gone and approached someone directly to ask if they would exchange inks with you? If so how did it go? Did they agree to exchange links?

Ya most of them agree Untill and unless you give them some crap offers.

You just cant quote for a PR6 or PR7 link on your PR1 site and yours on theirs . If both have somewhat same PR and descent traffic any one gets ready. No one actually denys.

Or may be you put a small link at the footer saying "to exchange links contact admin" or something similar. There would be manny people intrested in doing a deal there.

Nah... I never did that. You have to ensure that your conditions of the exchange are satisfactory and reach an agreement for it. Forums might be a better place of doing link exchange, and if you have a good rep + websites then they will consider.

At forums it would be much easier to do that cos you can deal directly or may be if needed on chats too.

But i dont think that its wrong in doing that. If advertisers do it, why cant publishers.

I receive mails from some advertisers across forums and into mmy inbox too stating that they have a campange running on so n so platform. If you are intrested you can join the campange there or even directly at our site.

Something like that can even work out with publishers too .

Yeah, another thing to add is that try to be careful as certain party may offer you link exchange from their website which is a link farm. If it is, I suggest you don't go for that as Google might penalize you. Only consider doing link exchange with a private 1 to 1 individual.
