Default .edu and .gov links

There has been internet buzz saying that getting links in .edu and .gov websites can really help boost your PR. I'm not sure if there's any way to do that? Does it really matters?

I think you can only use .edu if you are an education site and .gov if you are a business website. Otherwise I do not think you can register these domain extensions.

Ya i think that would really matter. You just cant get links so easily in .edu and .gov. Untill and unless you own a similar site or if your site belongs to the same institution.

Businnes links or any other online stuff links in those domains would be rare or may be never. If its a private instution or education provider then you can get into that .edu

.gov however there are chances of you getting into your states or your countries site if you are popular enough.

I'm not saying that I want to register domains using these extentions. If you read properly, I want to find out if there's any way of getting links to this website (either dofollow or is there any other method available.) since they usually command a high PR, therefore their links are being searched around by users these day. Hmmm.. any proven method that anybody has used to successfully getting links at the sites?

Yes alexboss thats true. And easier wat to get your site with edu and gov links.

But then most probably the domain would certainly overpriced as per the importance of the links it has or may be youll need to check out for a dropped domain if you dont want to pay

Its not even possible to get one of these domains. But I guess if you pay a higher price you can. But for me I think I like .com the most from all of em. Unless your site is educational then it doesnt matter you should be able to get .edu but im not sure from where.

You can actually buy them if you know where from, search around and I bet you, you will find it
