Using Keywords as anchor text for hyperlinks

Do you feel that it would be wise to use some important keywords on indexpage as anchor texts to hyperlink it to some other page containing some related info????

Is that in acordance to SEO and google's TOS or is it blackhat????

Was planing to use some important keywords on the index page and link it to some other page creating a shortcut to that page. Is doing that worth? Did you ever try something similar???

Any ill affects or pros and cons you noticed about doing that???

Need some comments please.

Yes,

By all means add text links pointing to other pages on your site or to products or categories on your site. Just make sure that these links are helpful to the customer or the reader of your site. Do not spam these links by repeating them over and over or by just creating a list.

Using thest text links will get the inside pages of your website indexed more quickly since when the bots spider your site - the spiders will follow those text links.

But remember - DO NOT SPAM

But i think ill need to mke a list there but would certainly avoid repeated use and over use

It will especially be useful so that the Page Ranking distribution will be even among the pages. Basically what I did was, based on the google analytics results, I find out which pages is the most popular, then I just create links using keywords with all the other pages pointing to the page.

Where the BLUE is - is how you want to add your text links. It happens naturally as you are speaking on the page. The paragraph does not contain a list of words one after the other. It contains a bit of ad copy and then the words that I will link to other pages on my site.

A list of text links does have it's place - that place is in the footer of each page and in your navigation tabs.

Can you pm me a link to what page you are looking to put the list on? or can you post it here? I would be interested in looking at it so that I can converse with you about it and actually know what I am talking about. I can only guess at this point and I don't want to steer you wrong. Maybe we can come up with something other than a list. Maybe not.

Ok the site is [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

As you can see the index page, it consists of very less content and only catagories so its a bit back when it comes to SEO.

If you minutely see both the peripherals or sides of ther page or if you go to the search or rescent ads page you can see that the sides appear as white without any content or any thing else. I am planning to use those keywords there in a form of list.

I actually had plans of selling links there but then looked wired to me so descided not to do that. And wanted to do something that will help my purpose and SEO well too. Something like using a particular keyword there and then executing a search querry nd displaying all related ads.

Can that possibly done???

Okay - I looked at your site and here is what I found:

Between the title tags the words "Goa No 1" are not helping you any. Not unless Goa No. 1 is so popular that people are searching for it. The words "free online classified's & adverstisement hosting" are helping but that is such a broad term that millions of people are probably using it so you have to compete with all of them for this business. Leave those last set of words if that is all you can think of but are there some other keywords you could use that would be more unique and still be something that others are searching for?

Pretty nice description tag except for you spelled the word AD wrong - you have ADD like addition or attention deficit disorder -

First of all - way too many characters. Keywords should be kept to 300 characters. Again - "goa classified" is doing you no good unless you are so well known that people are searching for those exact words. Some of the other words like "travel,matrimonial, hotels,livestock,apartments,Appointments,Accomodat ion, Beauty & Care, Books,Buy & Sell,Business & Finance... etc are way too broad. Your page is not about these things but is about advertising for these things. Also, what is a "Exhibition Cum Sale"? Did you type something wrong? that is one of your keyword phrases. Some of these keywords are not even on your page. If your keywords are not on the page somewhere - they are doing you no good. You feel you do not have much content on your page - I believe you have a ton of content on this page. Your titles, your words under the titles. All of this is content. If you can, you should make those words under your titles in those colored boxes be text links pointing to other pages on your site. Where you have "terms and conditions" in the footer area you can put a list of links to the other pages of your site.

Are you building this site yourself or is someone paying you to find advertisers for it? Is this just an affiliate site or your own personal web page that you can do what you want with?

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Got to learn a lot lot from it. I think firt thing i should do is sort out with the meta tags and screen them appropriately.

Yep its my personal site and i modify it according to my likes and dislikes. And the ads there are free at present. Hopefully once it gets us may think of paid ads or banners ect but right now its free.
