Default h1 tags

Hello,

I wanted to bring up the subject of h1 meta tags. Are you all familiar with them and do you use them. I know there are other ways to do the same thing but I use h1 tags and it seems to help.

Other than H1 tags, you could also go for <I> or <B>. It's something like you want to highlight the keywords so that not only visitors will take more attention of them but search engines bots will also give priority to the special markings.

Hope he is not speaking about "h" tags in relation to SEO and other tricks.

And also i think the <b> tags are outdated its overcome with something like <em>. But i never used it always use <B>

Well as long as the words are highlighted it should somehow serve the purpose of getting the attention. Or else all the words with the same fonts will also look dull.

Hwang,

Perhaps we are talking about 2 different places - the h1 tags are meta tags that show up in your source code.

I don't beleive that just highlighting the text in either a bold, or italicized, or a different size or color will make as much of a difference as words that have a distinct h1 tag around it. I could be wrong though. Anyone else have any thoughts about this. I was more talking from the search engine spider point of view, not from the customer viewing the page point of view.
