Do you ever check on your competitors' site?

I mean do you do that? Sometimes I just look around with competitors' site and see where they have been linking to and maybe emulate what they are doing.

Everyday i check they site and blog. I need to do to know any update or new thing. Sometimes, they also do the same thing to us. For me, its good.

Well what I always do is I check out their sites for contents as well and find out which posts is popular on their site and then writing something on my own based on the same topic.

I always check out my competitors. One wise person once said - It is good to know your friends but it is essential to survival to know your enemies better.

Not that our competitors are our enemies but I think the same idea applies.

I check out my competitors sites and I get new ideas for my site and I am sure that others are doing the same to me so it all works out in the end.

Yap. Its needed. WHo know if i miss something and by check our competitor site, its create many benefit. We will know something we don't know. Its really a big help for me.

Nice one on the quote. You really know how to use the words. Yeah, it helps to know what competitors are doing and in some part apply what we have been missing out.

Yes I do look over some of the competition's websites. It is important to always have an ey on what the other guy is doing I always like to take my own approach to things but it still helps to take a snoop around now and then.

Yes agree to it that even i do that very often. I dont think it is an bad deal or some thing wrong but its always better to have the total information of what your competetors are up with. It does boost your morale but also initiates me to get into and try something more better and precised to get on top.

Nothing wrong with that. It's just that we are spying
It helps us and give some idea what we may have been missing all the while. Sometimes, I run a backlink checker to find out which sites they submit to as well.

And it is not spying - merely what I was teaching my girls in Girl Scouts - "USE RESOURCES WISELY" In girl scouts that meant water, food, the earth etc but in the web business it means all tools available!

Appreciate your ideas. Somehow I never realize on doing this previously and I thought it was somehow unethical. But after given some thoughts to it and reading your post, I think doing this is somehow fine in everybody's perspective.
