Creating squidoo lens

Hmmm....anybody can guide me and tell what's the benefit of using a squidoo lens? Isn't this similar like creating a webpage? and how about the seo part? Any idea?

I do see lots of people speak about them across forums, but then I myself never tried them till today. Might be thats because I lack the information about them. This thread will suerly help me too getting some knowledge about them.

Yeah, from what I know it's also similar like having your webpage but the difference is that it is hosted on another site. There's an option to put adsense code and backlink which is why it attracts people to create a lens.

It is just like a "how-to" site with specialized fields. Personally I attach very low credibilty to these lenses as they are thinly disguised advertorials trying to sell products through affilate marketing. And all their reviews of products are always positive.

Actually It's a great platform for marketing and driving traffic to your page and affiliate links. And one thing I noted also is that the lens gain popularity easily and is even favored by SE bots.

You are right to say that they are popular; but popularity and credibility are two separate things. I will be very careful with what I read on such lenses and "hubs".
