Alexa rank toolbar?

Anybody here installs the toolbar? To me, it's an excellent tool that provides useful information about a site and don't forget by installing the toolbar, it can help to increase on your traffic rank as well.

For instance if you have 200 visitors a day and none of them uses the toolbar, then you would have a very poor ranking. That's why promoting the usage to everybody is important so that all of us can be a part of it.

Other than that, it also offers a pop-up blocker and a series of "related links" which is placed on top of your browser

Hmmm. There is no problem at all installing and using that tool bar but then I just cant understand how could that increase your Alexa ranking???

May be I cant understand that cos I havent used it till today, but then what bothers me is how would it help you to increase your Alexa ???

And also could you stress a bit more on

Hi, I had the same exact question like you have when I first got information about how alexa toolbar can increase your traffic rank. In this case, maybe you can get more detail information when you read this.

Alexa’s traffic rankings are based on the usage patterns of Alexa Toolbar users over a rolling 3 month period. A site’s ranking is based on a combined measure of reach and pageviews. Reach is determined by the number of unique Alexa users who visit a site on a given day. Pageviews are the total number of Alexa user URL requests for a site. However, multiple requests for the same URL on the same day by the same user are counted as a single pageview. The site with the highest combination of users and pageviews is ranked #1.

Not sure how effective and true it is but I'm experimenting with it right now

Hmm yes got it. But even then if would be practically true only if many other peoples apart from you yourself also use it regularly.

The tool bar actually acts as a medium which records the statistics and from those statistics the final averages are concluded.

Yeah, that's why the movement exists to get as many people to use it so that they will become contributor themselves.
