What PPC or PPA strategy would you like to see in search engines?

Hi All,

I'm interested to know what Google/Yahoo and other advertising programs don't offer that they should. PPC is supporting fraudulent activity but PPA is difficult to measure, or is it?

Ok. This is something that I've totally never heard of...PPA.
I tried searching for it in google but what turns out...

LOL. As per what I know PPA is paid per action I think most of them refer to CPA if I am not mistaken.

I have not heard of PPA either. Of course I am usually the last to hear about this stuff. LOL

However maybe this is something like Pay Per Activity as in get paid if a sale is made? More like a referral = commission?

Uh, ok. That explains. I was so used to the term CPA and never thought that PPA actually refers to the same thing. I think when it comes to measurement of CPA, that is not difficult. Every click can always be tracked and recorded using Javascript. Even data on page scroll from one section to another can be compiled.

Its actually easy to track that cos it will pay only when a action is performed. Like sign up or buying something etc. So if someone signs up or buys anything it will easily be tracked. But it does not mean that fraudulent practices are not prevalent in it. Tracking fraudulent sign ups etc would be a difficult task.

Like PPC ads, PPA ads will likely be ranked by profitability to Google. … If you are a smaller advertiser. Yes, in fact the practice of paying people to sign up is rather rampant. That's why those CPA sites usually have a higher threshold of amount of money in order to request the payout. That would easily stall for months, enough time for them to cross check and find out about fraudulent sign ups.

So did we nail down what PPA is exactly? Or did I miss that?

I thought that was explained previously. It's something like you get paid for certain actions that are performed. It does not necessarily means getting paid only when the visitor makes a purchase, sometimes actions like signing up for email is just enough and fulfill the requirement.

LOL there are lots of such short forms around which actually make you jumbled. And the most crazy part of it is that all sound similar like CPA, PPA, CPC, PPC, PVA, EPC and there would be a lot more.

If you were to explain that to me years ago, I would be staring at you wondering what all of that was about. Seriously, it took me quite some time with familiarize with all these. Even today, from time to time, I also get confused.

So getting people to subscribe to a member site would also fall under a PPA? Is that what I am to understand?

Any action I suppose can be considered. Remember those ZIP or email submits they just pay when any one enters their zip code or email id.

Hey Nat, it could be anything. Sometimes they even pay for if the visitor checks out a link or even filling out forms. Remember, the action can be anything which they desire.

Thus the term "action". So it probably has less to do with standard ads leading to standard sales of a product.

But you can also call a sale as action. Some advertisers may be paying per sale basis too. That can also be considered as action. Lol the term action is very vast and can include everything.

I think paying by sales is a more reasonable concept. Those signing up by email probably pay only very less since you can get almost anybody to signup for those email thing.

What I see is that on per sale basis you can get paid very handsomely. They pay a certain % of the product amount something around 15 to 25% where as some even pay around 50% per sale. Thats really a good option but again getting the sales though would not be that easy until and unless you have a very targeted site or something like BANS or niche store.

Pay by sale makes total sense. I just was saying that in my guesstimate there are many who try for the big payday through other "Actions". Like getting subscribers.
