Default Competitive Ad filtering in Adsense

So far, I haven't tried the ad filtering provided in Adsense and are not sure what's the effect is like. Do you have to manually add each ad every single time? Can't you specify a particular keyword and filter it out from there?

Nor I have used it yes. I am still a newbie at adsens so most probably I wont be trying to use it untill I get some thorough knowledge of it.

But then I think that it will suerly helping those who are already into it and earning descent revenue through it.

Moreever we would be able to choose the ads which we want to be displayed by using it. So may be you can target some high paying ads and run them on your sites

I'm looking into that as well by only letting high paying ads but am not sure how do they really calculate and determine which ad is paying or better or less. Any idea about that?

Yes, that will help each other. Main question is...how do we know which ad pays better and which one has the lowest click so that we can filter out that one. I've better searching through but haven't come across yet.

Some sites just work it around the following:

Traffic on the site / CTR on the ad's = Average clicks a day * PR = X

These dynamic sites can be very good to a webmaster but at the same time X could be really low or really high, so its nice just to stick with normal pay structures

Guys...You just have to checked this out. There's a very comprehensive step by step guide provided at this page and I think it's going to help a lot on your tracking on which location your click comes from and how much they pay for it.

Thanks Hwang and Lamalord. Those tips and specifications do help a lot.

But then if you practically see then it isant very very much effective. That is a way to moniter your statistics closely and get rid of the ads which actually did not pay you much till today.

From what I read in the method, it's actually involves a lot of work to make it happen plus everything has to be done manually. Well I guess, if you really have the intention to increase earning, that is one of the way.

Ya I agree with it. But I dont feel that it is effective enough. Not to mention Google might be having about millions or billions of Adwords advertisers across the world.

And i this case after you scrutinize and restrict the low paid ads from displaying on your site, then there isant any assurity that google wont display low paying ads from other advertisers from their database of millions of advertisers again on your site.

May be this can work if you repeatedly scrutinize your ads every 15 days or month.

That's why it's an on-going process to always filter out the ads one by one. Either way, we can use the ads review center to make it compulsory for you to review the ads before they are published.

Anyway, from what I see, I don't think the payoff in terms of time spent is not really worth it.
