What type of directory would you choose?

When it comes to choosing your directory which one do you normally submit to?

a) free web directories
b) reciprocal link directories
c) paid directories

I usually avoid paid directories due to limitation of budget and I also feel that it's not worth paying to get listed.
Free directories may be good and is the one which everybody will choose, however, to get listed can be sometimes hard and most of them are not famous.
I would prefer reciprocal link directories.

I generally use free directories. Paid i out of my list as i dont want to spend on that.
And reciprocal i really hate having all that stuff on my site. So its free and totally free that i preffer.

Is ther any way to use those reciprocal ones without having the links on my site??

Yeah, you are right. I made 2 deals using the reciprocal directories and it really make the site full with unwanted lines. I've removed it later by contacting them. I've heard also you can insert the links and make it with white color font just to hide it. But it's rather unethical doing that.

If I was going to use directories, I would want to use free directories. If I have a business site I do not want to have links back to a bunch of directories on my website. I just feel as if that would look unprofessional.

I am generally used the free web directories, It's very better directories.

But the problem is that there's not many free directories today without the reciprocal attached.
I just found one today. Check out this link. It's really free with no strings attached.

I think inded there are lots and lots. Some new some old. But most of them would be newer ones. I had a list of some 50 to 100 such directories. May be ill PM you over with the list. That will help you somewhat
