Default How do you monitor and keep track of all your directory submission

If I have free times, what I would do is that I will find as many directory as possible and submit to them. However, I do have a hard time remember all that and sometimes I forget which one I’ve already submitted to. And also how do we know the directory which we have submitted will always be there? There will be some time that the link may be removed without your knowledge. Is there a way to monitor all this?

You could create a spreadsheet or some other type of printout of each of the directories you have submitted links. You can make a notation that your site has been listed anytime you receive an email from that directory stating that it has.

Hmmm...Sounds like a good idea. Yeah it's a good way to track all your listing. I usually submit to so many of them and didn't track it or do any followup so I think I've lost track at the moment. Thanks for the idea.

Lol do you think youll do that . Personally i would never. Just dont have time to waste on those stuff

But i do submit sites to directory but never track them. Who cares there are lots online. Just keep on submitting to one or two every day or when you come across somewhere

Even if you come across the same after few days or months submit it again. If its there it would be neglected and if isant then its included

I still agree working with spreadsheet is a good way to track all the directory submission and links. No point doing double job on submission as I feel it's a waste of time. At least with a tracking record it will help us know where we are and in case we need to check on our own progress. Like a accounting book.

Oh thats fine
Depend on person to person But is there any specific time period after which your link gets deleated from any of the the directory. If not then how will you come to know wether its still there in that directory or not.

Or is it that we receive mail from them if its removed? Cos i never got any till now.

Whether they are or they or not, it might happened to be removed especially if we don't keep track of it and it was done without your knowledge. If you paid for a link and if the webmaster is somehow dishonest, he will remove it after some time. It is quite common in the net right nowadays that after purchasing a link, the website gets sell off and the link was removed by the new owner. If any of that happened, do you think the guy would tell you???

It's up to you to monitor yourself.

Lol thats right

I ment it for free directories and not paid ones. For paid it indeed is necessory to track r mantain records. By the way no one is So dumb to submit to paid directories again and again even if the link exists

Paid directories yes. Youll need to track them and moniter a well

Well the choice is always yours. If you decide not to, then it's purely your decision. I would still prefer my own set of tracking to see the effectiveness of the listing and how much does that contribute towards backlink.
