Default "@ymail.com" and "@rocketmail.com"

SAN FRANCISCO (AFP) - - Yahoo on Thursday is tripling the size of its globally-popular free online email service by adding two new domains as options to "@yahoo.com" addresses.

The introduction of "@ymail.com" and "@rocketmail.com" as Yahoo email address options comes as the pioneering Internet firm strives to convince investors it is on a path to reclaim faded glory and eroded revenues.
Yahoo Mail is the most popular web-based email in the world. Its profitable ad-supported service has approximately 266 million users, according to industry statistics.

Yup, that's really a good news. I've even grabbed some of my own address name just before someone else do, something which I've long think of doing. More choice and opportunities.

Just came across that today wen I was registering an ID at yahoo. They seem to be already functional. But then did not register one of these but went for generic yahoo.com.

y-mail sounds fine but rocketmail LOL

I think ymail is more of a better choice compared to rocketmail. It's shorter and is unique in the sense that ymail stands for yahoo mail similar like what gmail stands for google mail. Myself, I'm only interested in ymail but not rocketmail.

I agree with Hwang; I find the name rocketmail kind of silly and childish, but ymail looks suspicously similar to gmail too

It's good as well because they are giving a choice to users to have personalized email according to their choice. When I first trying to register gmail, I found out that names that I want to select is already gone, taken by others, so this ymail sure come at the right time. At least now, I have the personalized address that I have been waiting for.

Most probably that would be the reason why they inroduced these two new extensions. At yahoo most of the domains must have gone already and you cant register untill and unless you come up with some extraordinary names. Now there would be a vast choice to make and that to double.

Hmmm....At least the 2 new extension launching by Yahoo is much more successful than the one introduced by Microsoft sometime ago with the live.com. More people are discussing about these ymail and rocketmail.

That is certainly very true! Might be the reason behind it is yahoo is much more popular as an email exchange platform as compared to Microsoft.

Rather I feel that Yahoo is much more popular for its chat feature! Certainly there isant any other chatting platform as good as yahoo and leaving gtalk and msn. But of of the people would preffer Yahoo for social chatting and entertainment.

Hmmm...another reason I think is because when they launch live.com, there isn't much promotion or advertising for it. When ymail and rocketmail was launched, i can see the review anywhere across blogs.
