Default Is DMOZ On A Downfall?

It seems to me that DMOZ is going downhill for some time now. Things are not looking for optimistic for a while actually. That's especially since I read about Shoemoney's DMOZ extortiong by a DMOZ editor. What do you think?

Well, maybe yes and maybe not. With strict requirements, they are actually creating themselves some kind of establishment. Meaning that only the best of websites get to go in. In return they set themselves some standard and thus ensuring that DMOZ will always be the respected ones.
However, if we look the other way round, lots of people might one day get fedup and new directories will come in and that will challenge DMOZ dominance.

I submitted my websites to DMOZ months ago, many months ago and I still have not gotten a response from them. I did everything right as far as I know and my websites get traffic. I also, every day, communicate with a lot of others that own websites and they too have submitted to DMOZ with no reply back. We are talking 6-7-8 months or more and not a word from DMOZ. Not sure what is going on there but seems like they got overwhelmed and are way way behind.

Do you think it would make any difference if we resubmit again. I thought of doing that maybe just to get their attention. I only it's not encourage to do it but what's the difference anyway if we just sit back and wait with no results.

I do not think that submitting again makes much difference. It seems so hard to get listed even for many people who have high ranking websites.

Never mind, as I said, it doesn't make any difference somehow. We can't go about telling DMOZ to buck up or anything. That's how the thing goes over there and nothing we can do about it.
