Default Other Search Engines?

I was wondering - does anyone here think that "other search engines" could just be taking copy from the big guys and just using thier content to fill up these "other search engines"? How many different search engines do we need anyways? Three seems to be more than enough for me.

Yeah, some of the smaller search engines actually get their results either from the big boys like Google, Yahoo, MSN and others. They just display search results taken from them.

Yes I see that other smaller search engines often do have similar results to Google or Yahoo. Once in awhile I do get a different perspective from one of the other search engines though.

Hi, maybe you can refer to my previous thread here about Webcrawler. Basically, it works by gathering all the top search results from Google, Yahoo!, MSN, Ask.com, About.com, MIVA, LookSmart and other popular search engines into one single page. Try it and you will know why I said that...

Default I agree

Search engine sites like webcrawler or altavista just doesn't seem original. I guess they really combine all those system and called it a new one. I've try all of them.

Well when you do a search there, all the search results shown will be accompanied by the source from where it is taken from either from Google, Yahoo etc. Sometimes when I can't find what I'm searching for I would take into consideration using those search engines to find out what I may have missed out.
