I have to say that I love Vista. 8) I use it almost always, while I use my XP installation very rarely. However some major flaws in Vista which I find to be the most annoying is the fact that it has extreme trouble when trying to connect with XP computers. This has stressed me out since I got Vista and has been an annoyance. As of late, I have managed to get XP to connect to Vista, however I have to type in their IP address rather than Computer name for some Odd Reason.

Whatever the reason, I believe one day Microsoft will start to phase off XP support and then they will only provide updates for Vista. It happens to Windows 95 and 98 whereby there's no longer support provided. Even softwares nowadays start to design based on Vista platform.

Of course they will cut support to the OS. It's life, it's the computing world. I think SP3 will be the last service pack for XP, and thusly almost ending it support (except for security flaws and bugs).

Hopefully Vista SP1 will have many fixers to the system that is needed. The update to Vista should come at the same time as the XP SP3. I can't wait for the update, so far people have said it is great.

Well I'm waiting for that as well. Hopefully the update will fix many driver issues. If Microsoft work on improving the support, I'm sure Vista will become one of the best someday.

Microsoft plans to cut the cost of its Windows Vista sold at retail outlets.
Although no exact date has yet been given, price cuts would be introduced in 70 countries.

A guilty response in view of shipping a incomplete product?

I don't feel when offer like discount will get many buyer to use Vista. Consumer don't look for price only but more important is quality of product.

Hard for me to choose, I guess. I like the features and the theme in Vista, but XP is very handy and I use it a long time. I guess each of them have their own great capability.

Do you think microsoft is so generous?? If you know about forex, you will understand what I mean. Basically US dollar is going downhill and whatever foreign currency that they earn when converted to dollar is actually multiplying their earning even more with each day of declining dollar. So what's the price cuts that they are talking about?

Microsoft have made their money already off of the big rush from the people who really wanted it and the big comp companies who ship the computers out with the "latest in tech" on the unit.

Simply put the market has slown down and due to as mentioned before the finacial market is growing weaker for the US and the increase of piracy (still going) they need to drop the prices
