Default Microsoft targets Facebook

Having failed to acquire Yahoo, Microsoft is now turning its sights on Facebook having bought a 1.6% stake last year. Microsoft already has a deal to sell Facebook banner ads in the US through 2011.

This time, the chances for the deal is quite good.

Facebook? Why not invest in myspace. They are bigger and have the lead on accounts made by about 10x. Microsoft is big enough to purchase from myspace I dont see why they dont.

This saga would not be very interesting as as I think Facebook is a willing seller and they will need the resources to challenge MySpace owned byNews Corp, another very powerful media conglomerate.

Microsoft really are going for world domination, aren't they?
But then again, it seems it would be a smart move for them to aquire one of the leading social networking websites.

It is always cheaper to acquired good companies with proven track records than start from scratch; Microsoft is just behaving rationally.
