Taiwan's Fair Trade Commission has launched an investigation into whether Microsoft holds a monopoly over the island's software market and if it abuses such a position.
Well obviously they don't have to waste their time doing the investigation. Why do they need to carry out in the first place. Everybody knows about the simple fact.
We as laypersons all know that Microsoft is a de facto monopoly but to prove legally is another matter and takes a lot of time and resources. Hopefully, Taiwan can use some of the material that Europe and US had amassed.
So if they know they are the monopoly, what can they do anyway? No matter how detest or how proven with the level of monopoly, everyone still have to use it anyway. Unless you opt for apple or linux, but then there are still some restrictions or issues to it.
