Default Microsoft plays hardball to acquire Yahoo

Microsoft has given Yahoo 3 weeks to accept the $31 cash and stock offer or it may lower the bid and go straight ti tbe shareholders directly (proxy fight)
In the latest development, Yahoo rejected Microsoft 3-week ultimatium to accept its takeover offer.

A great fight ahead!

Actually I don't think Jerry Yang (Yahoo) is enjoying the fight - I think he is putting up a valiant struggle to stay independent. It is really sad to see how hostile takeovers play out.

Not really if they manage to keep hold of 51% of the shares and microsoft manage to ge the other 49% that means that yahoo will be laughing like mad

In the latest development, Yahoo is closing a deal with Time Warner INc with its AOL unit. Looks like the suitors for Yahoo are playing musical chairs.

Well by the look of it Yahoo is in not any way interested in the deal. Maybe they are trying to get microsoft to up the bids even more since they know this software giant has the money anyway.

I think Yahoo is trying to maintain its independence (at least from the 2 founders' point of view) but the shareholders may think otherwise.
