Microsoft and HP

According to a Financial Times report, Microsoft hasd struck a deal with HP to have its search service set as default on all PCs that HP sells in the US and Europe.

The agreement partly replaced a similar deal that HP and Yahoo announced nearly two years ago to carry Yahoo's search service on HP machines sold in the US and Canada.

Seems like Microsoft is now really trying its best to get on top with its search engine. But then again I am not sure how many of the HP users would actually use the service.

Just similar as the Windows or the windows live messenger is present as default in the OS but then there would only be certain amount of people who would actually use it.

Whatever it is, whether the search service is there or not, IE is automatically installed in all systems. So it's either IE with search service or IE without search service, so it makes no difference to me unless we are given the choice to choose whether IE is there in the first place.

You have no idea how much I now hate microsoft for doing anything with HP, they cannot make ANYTHING to save their lives, sure a few years back you could rely on them, but now... anything they make, if it breaks they take months to fix it, even a simple thing such as a paper jam so deep in a printer that you NEED to have a call out because reaching inside VOIDS the warrenty.... and then they cant do anything because they dont have the right tools..

They come back a week later.... still not the right tools...

Microsoft has been making all these moves with the aim of controlling the internet makete; they are play catch up as they know they have been caught flat-footed in the technological upheaval.

Do you guys know about this? I've come across before articles about Microsoft offering price money to use their search engine. It was years back but not sure whether they still do it today.

Lol they have they money to pay and with that they can easily get huge and huge crowds of people using it
